TEAM RELEASE: Fall-Line Motorsports Seeks Third Victory of the Year in CTSC at Lime Rock
Buffalo Grove, IL (May 22, 2014) – Fall-Line Motorsports heads to the fourth round of the 2014 Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge season at Lime Rock Park with a comfortable points lead in overall GS standings. Drivers John Edwards and Trent Hindman scored their first victory at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in round three. Regulars Shelby Blackstock and Ashley Freiberg will not be racing this weekend, but rather veterans Terry Borcheller and Mike LaMarra who will also be competing in the ST category where they sit 4th in overall driv
Blackstock is competing this weekend at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis for the ‘Night Before the 500’ as he competes in the ‘Road to Indy’ in the Star Mazda Championship Series.
Freiberg is missing this weekend’s event as the search continues for additional sponsorship and funding to continue the 2014 season. The talented Freiberg will trade her helmet for a sign board at Lime Rock as she will feature in the Fall-Line pit stops.
Hindman and Edwards have finished on the podium in every race thus far in 2014 with two second-place finishes and a victory. This is the first season the pair is driving together, but separately each has had success at Lime Rock. Hindman became the youngest pole-sitter in CTSC history to sit on the pole with his amazing qualifying performance in the 2013 season-ending race at Lime Rock Park and Edwards finished in second-place, just 4-tenths behind the winner.

John Edwards: “We’re in a good spot right now after our win at Laguna. We have a little buffer in the standings, but that doesn’t mean we can relax. We have a long way to go in the season and the GS series is very unpredictable. The BMWs have been good at Lime Rock in the past, but the threat of rain this weekend could make the race even more interesting. So far this season we’ve been in contention for the win at the end of every race and I know we will be a threat again this weekend.” Trent Hindman: “People for whatever reason always look at me like I have three heads when I tell them that Lime Rock is one of my favorite tracks…but it is! I’m very excited to be going back once again this year. Last year we had an awesome car, Charles (Espenlaub) and I had a great race and we just barely missed out on a podium. John and I know the track very well and we both have had success there in the past. I have no doubts that our Fall-Line BMW M3 will perform beautifully for us this weekend. A huge thank you to our partners Trim Tex, Cirocco & Ozzimo, Atlas Acon, DFL Interiors, and the National Kidney Foundation for all of their effort towards the #46 car this year!” Borcheller and LaMarra join the team this weekend after a long history between the two drivers and Fall-Line team owner Mark Boden. Borcheller and Boden drove together in competition in years past and when the opportunity arose to join the team once again, Borcheller and LaMarra jumped on it. While typically, GS and ST cars race together with split starts, the 1.5 mile ‘short-track’ requires the ST and GS cars to separate their races with so many cars in each class. So, for Borcheller and LaMarra, this means 300 minutes of racing on race day.

Terry Borcheller: “Mike and I have been given a great opportunity to drive with Fall-Line. I have a long history with them. I have a lot of friends throughout the company, and I’m looking forward to racing with them again. Hopefully we can go after a win this weekend at Lime Rock. Park.” Mike LaMarra: “Terry and I are very excited to join Fall-Line at this weekend’s split class event at Lime Rock Park. We have worked on various projects with Fall-Line over the years for which I am grateful. I am thrilled to be able to drive with their team. We will be working really hard to help them achieve another great finish.”
Michael Harvey, Fall-Line Motorsports Team Manager:“We are very excited to be back at Lime Rock Park. Historically the BMW-supported track has been good to the Fall-Line Motorsports BMW as we look to continue what has been a solid start to 2014. It’s great to have Terry back with us and I am excited to have the opportunity to have Mike experience a Fall-line GS car. Both Mike and Terry have done a remarkable job in ST over the past two years and I am thankful to Keith Burton for allowing these guys to do double duty on Saturday. I hate the fact that Ashley is working the wrong side of the pit wall for Fall-line this weekend especially as she is 3rd in points but we will continue to search for support so she can get back behind the wheel.”
