TOOELE, Utah, (July 17, 2020) — Fresh off the GT4 America season-opening triple header at VIRginia International Raceway, Flying Lizard Motorsports has journeyed to Utah Motorsport Campus to kick off two more championships: the Porsche Sprint Trophy USA West and the new GT Celebration series.

“To say racing has resumed for us would be an understatement,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “We’re in full swing over here, racing all over the world with our various programs. This weekend at Utah Motorsport Campus will be an exciting one. Not only are we looking forward to another season in the Porsche Sprint Trophy USA West series, but to start a new program in the GT Celebration is exciting as well.”

The team will host three entries in this weekend’s Porsche Sprint Trophy USA West event. Martin Brauns, the 2019 Emerald Class Champion, will return with his No. 01 Porsche GT3 Cup MR, joined by Mike Gulke in the No. 99 GT4 Cayman, and Paul Bonderson’s No. 42 GT4 Cayman. The season opener will consist of three races for the GT3 Cup classes and GT4 cars spread out across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 16-18. The 2020 season will take competitors to five of North America’s best road courses, perfect for the one-make platform series for Porsche enthusiasts.

The newest addition to sports car racing, GT Celebration features Generation 1 FIA GT3 race cars, racing at legendary circuits across North America. Andy Wilzoch, loyal Lizard and 2019 Trophy Diamond Class Champion will join the new series in his No. 46 Porsche 911 GT3R, will be joined by Brent Martini in the No. 81 McLaren 650S GT3. Geared towards GT3 car owners with little interest in competing in professional top level sports car racing series, GT Celebration provides the perfect opportunity for many auto enthusiasts, running in two, forty minute races. The 2020 schedule for the new series consists of five events, also racing at the same tracks Flying Lizard Motorsports has competed at for over 15 years.
